LHH’s latest research reveals that 73% of organisations are undertaking or considering layoffs.
Business discourse has been dominated by one issue above all others – the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential to transform the world of work.
Some say that we’re already amid a wave of AI-driven layoffs, while others point to the technology’s potential to be a net job creator. In any case, the very nature of work is set to change significantly across swathes of roles.
- How much has the situation changed in the last 12 months?
- Have employers gotten better at handling layoffs?
- What’s the impact on workers?
To find the answers, we surveyed 3,011 HR leaders (CHROs, HR Directors, and equivalents) and 8,101 white-collar workers across nine countries.
Key findings from the research:
- 25% of HR leaders are worried about burnout as a result of layoffs
- 36% of workers continue to be worried about being laid off
- 31% of workers are considering changing jobs in the next 12 months.
As an HR professional, staying ahead of these trends is essential. Our comprehensive report offers insights, breakdowns by region, and strategies to prepare for these challenges.
